Don’t Let Your Home Based Business Fail Tips To Help

It’s really sad to me that many people trying to make it with a home based business ultimately will fail. What is even more sad is the reasons why they will fail.  Most home based businesses will fail because they refuse to utilize the current tools available to them. Either from a lack of knowledge or  just being stubborn and refusing to change. For years we’ve all had a theory about how a home based business should work. We have standard marketing plans and those are still valid. However business is rapidly changing. The old model was: You work hard, build your small business, get clients, hope you break even. The lucky few actually make a profit.

In case you have yet to realize business is changing before your eyes. Especially the home based business models. Before if you were a small business you’d have to hire a large PR firm to get noticed, spend a lot of money and hope you get a sale. The Internet, online marketing, and special services that are available to every home based business have challenged those ideas and more recently changing the way we all do business. If you are a business owner and you are not getting results or you’d like to get better results. I want to tell you a few places you should look.

Why should you listen to me?  In just a few short years I’ve won numerous awards, written a book, appeared on Yahoo!, Business Insider, ( this weekend) The Wall Street Journal and more. I’m not bragging I’m just saying I’ve gotten results so that is how I know you can get them too.

They don’t realize the power of social media, email marketing,  or any of it really. Mean while your competitors who do are flying past you. But here are a few things you need to do and if I were you I’d do them now.

Email marketing- If you are not building a list for your business you are setting yourself up to fail. What if every new customer was added to your newsletter? The next event, next discount, product launch you’d have a built in audience.

Social Media. If you don’t get it find someone who does. But you can’t afford to ignore it any longer. You should at least have a Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIN for your business at bare minimum. Blog – You need to have one. No matter if you are a service based business or you have a physical product you can write blog posts that interest your customers. It’s very important to stay connected. It’s also a great way to keep your company listed.

You may not understand these methods but please listen to me when I tell you they work.
