In the midst of the dreadful headlines: “America Bombs Syria.” All of my thoughts turn to our brave pilots. Tonight they are launching out into the unknown under a protective cover of night to carry out a very brave and dangerous mission. This mission allows each of us to rest more safely tonight knowing they are our protectors. I think many times it can be so easily overlooked the great price our US Military pays for us.
“It is an unfortunate fact that we can secure peace only by preparing for war.” John F Kennedy
There is a great price that was paid for the freedoms we enjoy every day. The reason Islamic terrorists don’t meet us at our front doors is not the blind idealism that we can “all get along” but the fact that there is a mighty force known as the United States Military. This force flies to distant lands that many of us will never see in order to stop evil and protect our families and our nation from terror that wishes to come to our front doors. And as their families wait and pray that they will return to them safely I find myself in prayer agreeing that they will.
I was thinking and wondering as I watch those jets take off, what must be going through the minds of those pilots. Headed into battle, knowing that they are part of a life altering moment. The world watches and America Bombs Syria.
I have many family members who have served this great nation that I call home and many currently e currently serving. Any time I see a military person in uniform I always stop to tell them how thankful I am that they fight for our freedom and serve this great land. And America IS still great regardless of the hatred of a few.
I am not oblivious to the fact that the only reason I am able to click away at this keyboard tonight, the ONLY reason my husband and daughter are sleeping peacefully in the next room as stay away to work is because someone’s son or daughter, or father or mother, or sister or brother, decided that they would proudly defend our freedom.
My heart and prayers are with every single pilot and every innocent person right now as America Bombs Syria. I’m praying for their families and I’m praying for wisdom and their protection. And although they may never read this post, I just wanted to remind anyone who does read this post to think of the tremendous price that was paid so that you can be free. Remember it’s because of our brave men and women that you are even allowed to live your life in peace.
I want to say how much I appreciate our United States Soldiers. The sacrifices you make EVERY day mean so much to me and to my family and so many Americans.
You are powerful, you are mighty, you are our protectors even when our leaders do not understand your value or your strength, you are the hope of our great nation. I am thankful for your great courage. I want to say Thank you. Thank you for allowing my baby girl to sleep peacefully tonight because you have decided to unselfishly lay your life on the line for so many of us. God Bless America and may God Bless Our United States Military and every one of their family members.
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
